Building your credibility...
Just yesterday, I wrote a newsletter for one of my client's customers. A particular feature I worked on was Building Your Credibility.
A lot of times, many web hosts take credibility for granted. So, I've decided to post it here, let me know what you all think and if you have anything to add, feel free.
BUILDING YOUR CREDIBILITY:
Tip #1: Create an account at Brainbench.com, and take a test related to Customer Assistance or Linux Administration. This is a great tool you can use to market your service as being managed by 'Certified' employees.
Tip #2: Always search your web site for broken links. Nobody likes to browse a web site and find themselves in a dead end. More than likely, these visitors who find a broken link on your web site will not notify you, because they've already lost interest.
Tip #3: Negotiation skills take practice. Whenever you are negotiating a sale with a customer, always start off at a price higher than normal, but not an outrageous price. Make sure you work with the prospect to see what sort of web site they have and what exactly they are looking for. Try to keep price out of the discussion, and make sure you're the one offering the suggested price over a certain amount of web site hosting resources. Don't make yourself seem too aggressive or even too sympathetic to where you are taken advantage of. In short, know what you're selling and how much it's really worth. |
