IXICO Limited is looking for a motivated Linux system administrator with skills and experience in developing web application in Perl and who is enthusiastic about building a Linux network from scratch. The role will be responsible for shaping the entire IT infrastructure in our company while by-and-by being deeper involved in the development of our Perl web application. The position requires an 'open mind' for new technologies like GRID computing and cutting-edge image processing algorithms as 3D image warping. You will join a young and extremely ambitious company with close links to research labs at Imperial College London and University College London, and you will be exposed to some extremely high profile projects that are exciting and challenging. Our clients demand working strictly under a ISO9001 based quality system.

You must have at least 2+ years experience in administrating Linux computer networks and must know possible security issues in depth. The role requires proven skills and experience in developing database driven web applications on the Linux platform using MOD Perl, OO Perl, Apache, SQL, PostgreSQL, HTML, and XML manipulation using XSL. Successful candidates should have experience in version-controlled maintenance of Perl code including release management, bug diagnosis, code maintenance. Experience with computer clusters, like CONDOR clusters, and knowledge of another object-orientated language, like C++ or Java, is a plus. Furthermore, we would prefer candidates which have been exposed to an ISO9001 based quality system in the past.

Required skills:
