With a population of over 65,000 Rossendale is an integral yet distinctive part of Lancashire. It offers a variety of lifestyles ranging from urban centres of character to rural locations in the pennine foothills. Due to a recent restructure the Council is looking to strengthen its finance team through the appointment of two Account Managers.

Job Description:

* One post will be to provide accountancy services to the Corporate Support Services functions within the Council (Accounts Manager - Technical) and the second post will be to provide the same to the Operational Services (Accounts Manager - Operational)
* Provide operational & strategic financial data to support Members, Senior Management Team (SMT) & Heads of Service
* Budget setting including calculations & support
* Budget monitoring investigating & reporting
* Final Accounts preparation & reporting
* Grant scheme assistance, from bids to claims & audit
* Ad-hoc financial advice & support
* Ensure compliance with current accounting standards, practices and guidelines
* For the technical post you will also produce the annual statutory accounts, make returns to central government departments & other external bodies such as the Customs & Excise, Inland Revenue & the Audit Commission and be involved in capital accounting and treasury management.

Candidate Specification:

Ideally you will qualified CCAB (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with some experience within public services.

Skills:

You will have the energy and drive to deliver robust and meticulous financial reports, have a desire to harbour change and have the ability to communicate with people at all levels
