Interim Procurement Manager x2 - Newcastle - Tyne & Wear

The Procurement Confederation Board have established a dedicated contracting team, which will be based at South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust. The Team will work very closely with Confederation member organisations and it's supplier community, to ensure value for money contracting and supply services are delivered. In addition Team members will work very closely with organisations across the North East and North Yorkshire – within Project North East (ProNE) – ensuring value is obtained at all times.

Job Description:

An excellent opportunity to join the team. You will work across a diverse portfolio and geographic area. Responsibilities will include:

* Manage and support the procurement team
* Ensure best value for money for all products and services are met within the portfolio provided
* Manage relationships with internal stakeholders at every part of the process to ensure that their needs and expectations are met
* Assess, and make recommendations to both stakeholders and board members on your findings
* Lead the team towards the objectives of the board

Candidate Specification:

* Good understanding of the legal and policy context in which central Government procurement has to operate (including EU procurement rules)
* Proven ability to deliver projects to tight timescales
* Understanding of the principles of Programme and Project Management

Skills:

* Strong communication skills
* Knowledge of Tendering process
* Negotiator CIPS qualified or equivalent
* Experience in print/stationary, medical equipment or chemical sectors advantageous
* Experience in public sector, preferably in the NHS or another government department would be advantageous, IT literate
