The Software Engineering (SE) team in T-Mobile's Data Systems Engineering group is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill a senior database developer position. The working environment is fast-paced, energized, and grounded on hard work, respect, innovation, and teamwork.


This position, located in our Bellevue, WA office, will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of various data application projects within the Data Systems Engineering (DSE) group. The DSE group is responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of data applications for T-Mobile data subscribers, including WAP, Partner Publisher, MyAccount, Content Delivery Framework, Search, Java downloads, and Intelligent DHCP. The group also provides various Application Programming Interfaces (API) to content partners and other applications within T-Mobile.


The database developer will:


- Design and Develop OLTP and Data Warehouse solutions in an Oracle environment.


- Perform or lead installation, configuration, and implementation of OLTP and DSS Database servers and schema objects.


- Work closely with the Systems Engineering Quality Assurance team. Responsible for handing over completed design and code for verification prior to launching into production.


- Provide tier 3 support to operations during deployments and for production issues.


- Perform detailed documentation of new Engineering Data Application concepts and design documents, including standard operating procedures and transaction maps.


* Perform vendor evaluations of third party products and assist management in making the right decision in procurement of such products

* Mentor junior members of the team

* Lead projects


Requirements:


- 4-year technical degree or equivalent with 4+ years of Database Development/DBA experience with Oracle 9i or better in a high-transaction production environment.


- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL,Database Triggers, Stored Procedures, Advanced Queuing, Packages, and Database tuning techniques.


- Experience in design of database applications and data modeling is required.


- Experience in data warehouse design and implementation. Knowledge of Oracle Warehouse Builder is a plus.


- Candidate must be able to work with back-end systems & their support staff, customers, partners, front-end developers and other internal and external groups.


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Knowledge and experience with Oracle 10g is a plus.

* Knowledge and experience in implementing data-replication techniques using Shareplex or Streams or any relevant tools is a plus.

* Experience with development and deployment of Database Applications in Java & J2EE environment is a plus.

* Experience in deployment of large complex systems in a distributed environment is a plus.

* Previous experience working with T-Mobile systems or in a wireless environment is a plus.
