The Software Engineer for CNET's mySimon division will be an integral part of the development team.  The ideal candidate will be an excellent problem solver and responsibilities will extend to any of the applications associated with the mySimon initiatives.  They should have demonstrated the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress.  Knowledge of JSP, Java, and XML are an absolute must, but a deep understanding of all web technologies from a technical and product perspective are also very important.  Experience integrating XML feeds into products is also desired.  The applicant must have a passion for providing a great user experience.

 Required Skills/Background

- 2 years of previous professional web development experience with expertise in developing HTML and JSP pages

- Must be proficient with XHTML, CSS and Javascript

- Experience with server-side templating and databases; JSP and mySQL preferred

- Strong ability to rapidly design, build and own page components

- Has a propensity to adapt to many different facets of software development quickly and efficiently.

- Must have good communication skills and the ability to interface with non-technical users

- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a face-paced environment

- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

- Experience with PERL, mySQL, PHP, XML and XSLT is a plus

- Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent training and experience
