Job details: Our client is a well-funded and rapidly growing SF based company that occupies the online game space. They are currently seeking an enthusiastic Network/System Engineer to help build the System Engineering organization.

The Network/System Engineer will participate in the development, deployment and support of one of the largest multiplayer game sites. The lead engineer will start at the ground level, learn the business and eventually help to grow the organization. The engineer should have a strong background in high transaction/high availability systems. Someone that knows what it means to manage a high volume consumer web business with lots of servers. We are looking for someone with a blend of fun game support and serious financial transaction background that wants to be in the center of it all.

The Technical Requirements:
? Experience installing and supporting Red Hat Linux.
? Experience installing and supporting Oracle.
? Experience installing and supporting MySQL.
? Experience installing and supporting SuSe Linux.
? Experience with MS Server 2000.
? Experience and Supporting MS IIS.
? Experience supporting Dell servers.
? Experience with setting and managing VPN connections.
? Experience in setting up IP networks.
? Experience managing domains.
? Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix and Nagios.
? Experience managing large server farms of up to 100 servers.
? Experience supporting externally hosted systems ( Hosting Center).
? Experience with fast growth business environments.
? Experience supporting high availability systems.
? Experience in shell scripting, cron jobs and using other common administrative scripting tools in a UNIX environment.

The Organizational Requirements:
? Experience working with in-house software development teams.
? Experience working and managing third party software and hardware vendors.
? Experience working with Source Control systems.
? Experience ordering and pricing hardware.
? Experiencing participating in negotiating hardware contracts.
