Job details: Assistant/Associate Professor of Electronic Game Programming This is a full-time faculty position. Responsibilities include curriculum and course development, student advising / mentoring, teaching and enrichment, industry outreach, and development of program presence. Even though Champlain College is not a research oriented institution, some research is encouraged in the serious games discipline.
Qualifications: Requires either industry experience in the field of game programming and software engineering, or academic experience in software engineering with a focus on game programming. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following:
C++, Java, Assembly, and other programming languages including game engine scripting languages.
Working in a game engine such as UnrealEd, Torque, Virtools or similar.
2D / 3D Graphics programming, AI Programming, Real-time applications and simulations, and Console / mobile programming.
Object oriented programming with the use of Microsoft Software development tools (and others) such as: Visual Studio, XNA, and .NET
Electronic game-related math skills.
Candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field with an advanced degree preferred. Academic experience and / or game industry experience will be weighed accordingly in order to determine academic rank. A demonstration of teaching excellence is strongly desirable.
