| Hey, Im currently working on my home relay-rack project and am now in search of a decent cisco router to use here. I have recently bought a Cisco WS-1924-C Switch. What would you guys suggest for this network router wise? I was looking into the 2500 Series Routers. Would anyone be willing to explain what ports on the router I need? I have been a varity of diffrent ports on them and Im trying to figure out what is required for my network. I know the router will have the connection going into it but into what port? Also What port should the cable go out from to go to the switch? I have never setup a network with a Cisco Router. Thanks in advance. |

If you are building a lab for certification practice, any router with a current IOS version will do. However that switch will do you no good. Cisco has altered a significant portion of the switch command structure and the new tests reflect this. You will need a 2950 or above.
