Job details: 2D Engineer Backbone Entertainment is looking for 2D Software Engineers with DS, GBA, Genesis, SNES or other old school experience. We are seeking people who are capable of independent work, with minimal supervision and will produce professional quality commented code. You should also feel comfortable scheduling work and meeting those timelines.

The ideal candidate must have expert knowledge of the C programming languages, as well as a B.S. in Computer Science or two years of videogame programming experience. Assembly experience is preferred, and knowledge of Perl, XML, BREW, J2ME, Rose, Yacc/Bison, and Lex/Flex is always a plus.

You must also have experience programming with some (or all) of the following:
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance
Sega Genesis
NES/SNES
ROM-Based Hardware/Embedded Systems
Assembly Programming
Efficient C Programming (Pointers, Bit-Wise Logic Operations, etc)
Fixed Point Arithmetic
Sprite and Tile-Based Drawing Systems
Color Palettes
MIDI and Compressed Sound Playback
