Midway Games is looking for Lead Tools Programmer
duration - Full Time

Job details: Lead Tools Programmer As a Lead Tools Programmer you will work closely with artists and designers to develop Surreals next-generation development tool-set. You'll manage a team of three to four programmers and be the principal software architect for these systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and provide programming solutions for workflow and production bottlenecks throughout all Midways game projects, in all departments.
Manage a team of three to four programmers in Surreal's Advanced Technology Group.
Audit the technology architecture and code of the tools team to ensure that the team is creating clean, maintainable code of high quality.
Planning, scheduling and triaging features in response to requests from other teams in the company.
Break down tasks and provide time estimates to Production for the schedules.
Authoring tools and other applications as necessary to enable the other teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Game industry experience required.
Prior tool or Windows GUI-related programming experience required.
Experience programming Win32, MFC, ATL/WTL or other GUI frameworks required.
Experience managing a small team of programmers.
Excellent communication skills, having worked with artists and designers frequently in the past.
Math: 3D matrix and vector math, transforms, quaternions, etc.
Should be knowledgeable in database, searching algorithms, and file I/O.
6 years professional C++ programming experience. C#, scripting experience a plus.
Experience with writing plug-ins for Maya, or writing MelScript a plus.
