Hello! I have a 'philosophical' question? I couldn't find a "statusbar" component. So (if I haven't been too much of a nitwit, not finding something that exists, but hopefully, it just doesn't exist), although it's not difficult to make a statusbar out of existing components, do you know if there is a practical reason that makes a JStatusbar irrelevant?

Isn't a status bar just a JLabel in a BorderLayout.SOUTH?

A JToolBar would possibly suffice for some purposes too.

Trendi, I think you need to think about what you want and then see if a JLabel is enough or not

Plus, status bars are crap UI, as it's too easy to ignore the information in them.
