Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) is looking for Senior Network Programmer
duration - Full Time

Job details: Senior Network Programmer Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and architecture of the overall network code systems,
including hardware independent layer, server plugin architecture,
network game play code layout and design.
* Working with an existing network layer and further develop or enhance
as requested by design or implementation needs.
* Improving upon network performance for a peer-to-peer and
server-client networking model, including developing bandwidth and
packet monitoring tools.
* Interfacing with internal and external network engine group to track
progress on features and revisions to the libraries they are providing.
* Responsible for all connectivity issues and resolving issues with
servers and making certain QA is up to date with the latest version of
the servers that match the library versions that are being used within
the game.
* Defining network technologies that can be implemented to complement
existing hardware platforms.
* Participate in the future design and expansion of multiplayer
gameplay and online community services for existing and future
products.

Qualifications:

* At least three years experience in the game industry.
* At least 1-2 years of experience working in peer-to-peer networking.
* At least 1-2 years working with server-client networking model.
* Thorough knowledge and experience with C / C++.
* Good team and communications skills.
* Ability to work within schedule constraints.

Desirable:

* BS in Mathematics or Computer Science.
