| subject: Web Manager , is looking for Web Manager duration - Full Time Job details: Website Management (50%) 1. Oversee strategic direction and management of the College of Engineering's official website ensuring that the site provides timely and engaging content, is intuitive for users and utilizes the most up-to-date Web technologies. 2. Provide ongoing assessment of the site's content, architecture, navigation, interactivity, design and overall quality. 3. Working closely with Academic Computing Group, particularly the Web Developer, monitor and implement emerging web development technologies. 4. Lead changes to the overall direction of the site including developing strategies for driving traffic to the site and promoting online giving, expanding multimedia technologies and measuring hits to the site. 5. Serve as principal liaison with departments and collaborate with them to determine how best to highlight news and announcements. 6. Represent the College on campus committees pertaining to web communication, development and policies. Content Planning and Development (30%) 1. Under the direction of the Executive Director identify new content areas and produce content, including new pages, multimedia presentations and flash elements. 2. Working closely with the College's Web Developer to research and implement new technologies; plan and develop content that draws on the strengths of the Internet such as online polls and interactive chats; and acquire and prepare rich media, such as video clips and audio images for the web. 3. Work with College Relations staff, graphic designers and campus staff to produce content for new sites as required. 4. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications writers and editors to develop web components for their printed publications. 5. Assure College's news site is a useful tool for the media, campus community and public. Web Analysis and Technology Research (20%) 1. Research and develop methods to measure and analyze hits to the site. 2. Monitor web site usability and prepare monthly analysis for Executive Director. 3. Use this analysis to develop content which meets users' needs. 4. Maintain weekly statistics of hits to the site. 5. Research competitors and others for best practices for promoting online giving and driving traffic to their sites. 6. Assess new trends, technologies and methodologies of online content delivery. 7. Oversee all electronic-media projects within Dean's Office. Requires: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field with minimum seven years of relevant experience, including at least two years as manager of a web site. Substantial experience in creating and maintaining web sites and successfully publishing materials on the web. Solid understanding of web technology, languages and software including: Content Management Systems, HTML, Javascript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS); Dreamweaver; Photoshop. Experience with streaming video technology and PowerPoint. Experience in current and emerging Web technologies, tools and design and testing, content management systems, multimedia applications. Demonstrated experience as an editor, writer or publications/marketing professional plus a university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communications background with emphasis on creative, effective on-line communication. Sound, working knowledge of current web content development practices.
