| subject: Web Design Manager , is looking for Web Design Manager duration - Full Time, Regular Job details: Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Design Manager oversees all aspects of the School's website, including development of strategies to insure a coherent and effective web presence through regular design and maintenance. This position is responsible for the design and maintenance of the School's website and ensuring that the functionality is clear and logically structured. The incumbent provides expert advice regarding the School's visual identity, helping to provide stylistic consistency across the School's electronic media, publications, promotional materials and e-mail campaigns. The incumbent advises and trains staff members to develop their departmental web pages, and maintains workflow policies to ensure accuracy of website content and conformance to design standards, ensuring a clear and logical structure across the site. Oversees work performed by third-party web consultants, and acts as liaison to Columbia University web committees and related personnel. Performs other related duties as assigned. General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years web design/management experience. Knowledge of search engine optimization. Excellent project management and communication skills. Strong graphic design skills, with mastery of an advanced graphic design application. Thorough familiarity with cascading style sheets. Client-side scripting experience (e.g., JavaScript), Java, JSP, XML/XSLT and/or PHP a plus. Working knowledge of UNIX file and group management commands. Fluency in written and verbal English necessary. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is a must. Location: New York |
