We are quickly growing our product development team and seek a full-time Web Application Programmer. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Web Application Programmer is responsible for the development, maintenance and integration of several technology layers to support our custom eCommerce platform, web portal, and data warehouse. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and maintaining internal and client websites while working closely with our entire production team. To qualify for this position you must have hands-on experience developing complex web applications using the LAMP stack (Linux/Unix/Solaris, Apache, MySQL, PHP), HTML, JavaScript and CSS in a commercial environment. You should also be able to demonstrate the advantages of using OOP design, Classes and content Templates. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Object-oriented, server-side PHP scripting using PHP 4 & 5 * Conversion of graphic page layouts into HTML templates, including processing of graphics * Generate and maintain documentation * Further development of our proprietary in-house toolbox objects * Evaluation of feature designs and how they translate into the appropriate technology * Coordinate detailed specification development with product development team QUALIFICATIONS * 2+ years PHP 4.x experience and version 5.x aware * 2+ years Apache 1.3 * 2+ years MySQL 3.x and/or 4.x * Extremely comfortable developing in the LAMP (Linux/Unix/Solaris, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment * Significant knowledge of how to architect complex database driven web applications * Hands-on experience building ecommerce applications * Strong analytical and communication skills, with experience wearing multiple hats To apply, please email your current resume along with a cover letter detailing the highlights of your application development experience.
