| subject: UI Designer/Developer/Producer , Yale University Yale University is looking for UI Designer/Developer/Producer duration - Full-Time Job details: General Purpose Under the general supervision of the Manager of Design & Publishing Services within the ITS Web Services department, and with considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion, develop and integrate the user interface of new and/or redesigned Web sites and applications. Maintain existing sites for training, research, educational, administrative and other activities of the university. Provide advanced expertise in technical design skills to the ITS Web Services unit and its clients. ITS Web Services provides Web application development, Web design and Web infrastructure services to the general Yale University community. Essential Duties 1. Edit, maintain, develop and integrate the site technical structure, user interface, content, graphic elements, photography and audiovisual content of Web projects. Act as project coordinator and primary client contact for assigned Web site design, development and maintenance projects. 2. Meet with clients and manage production schedules for assigned projects. In collaboration with the Manager of Design and Publishing and other ITS Web Services producers, designers and programmers, coordinate the work of project team members assigned to projects. 3. Participate in the project definition and the gathering of the functional requirements. Manage assigned projects for technical quality, budget compliance and accurate production schedules. 4. Provide advanced technical expertise in user interface design and implementation of both Web site and application development projects within ITS Web Services. 5. Provide technical expertise of web-related best practices and issues relevant to information architecture and user-centered design processes. Education & Experience 1. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area and three years of programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Education & Experience Skills & Abilities 1. Well-developed project management and communication skills; demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality Web projects under tight budgets, tight deadlines and high quality standards. 2. Advanced expertise in Web development technologies and user interface design and development in a complex institutional environment. 3. Demonstrated, via a portfolio of work, comprehensive and expert skills in Web site development, user interface design, Web accessibility (508), XHTML, CSS and other Web development technologies such as XML/XSL. Expert knowledge of Web and graphic editing software such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Studio 8, Oxygen. 4. Advanced knowledge and experience with Mac and /or Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications. 5. Advanced knowledge of site development technologies, including many of the following: JavaScript, XML/XSLT, AJAX, RSS, Apache, PHP, MySQL, .Net, ASP, SharePoint, Flash ActionScript, Web-enabled database scripting, Web search software, Web 2.0 collaborative technologies such as blogs and wikis and Web content management software. 6. Demonstrated ability to creatively adapt to the continuously changing technology and communications needs of Yale University clients and Web site managers. 7.
