| subject: Tools Programmer , Pandemic Studios Pandemic Studios is looking for Tools Programmer duration - Full Time Job details: Tools Programmer Responsibilities: Develops, writes, tests and debugs HUD/UI code for new and upgraded software products. Participates in the design of products and performs some testing. Works with designers, artists and other personnel involved in the development of products. May program tools and utilities to support work on projects. Produces documentation for other programmers use. Writes clear, maintainable, portable code on current and next gen consoles. Qualifications: Action, or Fantasy genre (1st or 3rd Person Shooter) programming experience is ideal. Intense passion for working in the games industry. General understanding of all aspects of game programming, including networking, AI and physics. Console programming experience on PS2 and/or Xbox is a plus. Individual Measurable contributions from school projects that feature HUD/UI experience/exposure. (Game demos and side-projects developed in spare time and/or as thesis projects). A candidate would also be viewed favorably if he or she has shipped at least one high profile title as a programmer in one or several of the following areas of game development: HUD/UI, gameplay scripts & graphics. Additionals: LUA, network, AI, animation, physics, low level systems or sound programming. Game development external from school projects (your own creations) and ability to describe and showcase such examples are a definite plus. 3 yrs programming experience in C / C++ is MANDATORY B.S. in Computer Science or a distinguished college course list in relevant fields-preferably from a Games Dev concentration. Good oral and written communication skills Able to focus and work without micro-management Willingness and ability to operate within a true team-oriented atmosphere Clear understanding and appreciation of schedules and milestones Desire to establish and build a career within a thriving developer environment Must be legally authorized or able to obtain legal authorization to work in the US A passion for creating and playing GREAT games!
