| Technical Architect Salary: Negotiable Location: UK Company: Westbase Technology Limited Date posted: 5 Jul 2005 Certified Enterprise Architect To provide innovative solutions to a set of business requirements, oversee the development and implementation of the solutions, and provide advice, guidance and leadership in the adoption of new technologies and industry best practice. From time to time, this individual may be required to undertake assignments not directly covered by this role profile as the needs of the business demand, as part of their personal development plan or to enhance the departmental capability. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide an innovative technical solution for each project that you are assigned to. Provide technical support for Business Analysts during early analysis phases of the project. To provide Project Manager with high level estimates for proposed solutions. To act as technical sign-off for functional and design specifications produced by development and deployment teams. To provide technical leadership to ensure solutions are implemented as defined, in line with the overall strategic architectural framework and industry best practices. Provide analysis and thought leadership to the IS function with regard to the evaluation and adoption of new technologies. Liaise with IS Operations team to ensure that they are aware of infrastructure requirements to support proposed solution. Provide regular progress reports to the Lead Solution Architect. To work with Organisational Development and key stake holders in the business to help develop the proposed solution. Provide sign-off for design and technical quality of project prior to release KEY SKILLS REQUIRED: Preferred Qualification Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE At least 5 years working in software development life cycle and at least 3 years in a team leader or technical architect role. Experience and Expertise in Web Technologies. Experience of a broad range of alternative technologies and design methodologies, including model driven development, OO design and web services architecture. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of successful solution delivery. Strong experience in functional and non-functional requirements gathering in a non-technical environment. Strong software design skills with at least 4 years experience using Object or Component based design techniques. Including UML and full lifecycle experience on an OO language such as Java. Full software development lifecycle exposure, including project leadership. Ability to plan forward analysing possible outcomes. Flexible nature to accommodate business change/entrepreneurial spirit of RBI. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
