Laika Inc. is looking for System Administrator (Lead) duration - Full-Time Job details: Award winning animation studio, LAIKA Inc, based in Portland Oregon and owned by Phil Knight, co-founder and chairman of Nike is seeking a Lead System Administrator to oversee day-to-day operations and provides leadership for the Infrastructure group. LAIKA/entertainment is currently in production on several animated feature films including: Neil Gaiman's "Coraline" , written for the screen and directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and The Giant Peach); and "Jack & Ben", written and directed by Jorgen Klubien (Cars, Monsters Inc, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid). The company recently purchased the rights to one of the U.K.'s current best-selling children's novels, writer/illustrator Alan Snow's "Here Be Monsters". LAIKA/house is a dynamic community of filmmakers, designers and animators guided by a legacy of 30 years of animation history. Notorious for its skills in storytelling and character performance, LAIKA/house produces every type of animation in every medium. Responsibilities: Ensure the availability of critical IT infrastructure Set day-to-day priorities for system administration Serve as technical lead on all group initiatives Work with department heads and users to forecast requirements Work with IT Manager to establish group priorities and goals Supervise system administration staff Create reports and proposals as needed Qualifications: Eight years experience designing, deploying and operating high performance computing environments Eight years experience with enterprise infrastructure operations Eight years experience administering high performance networks Eight years experience with high performance network storage Eight years experience designing and administering automation infrastructure Eight years experience with monitoring and security infrastructure Eight years experience with trending, data collection and analysis Eight years experience in data center operations Eight years experience programming and scripting Three years experience designing and operating VoIP infrastructure Three years experience working in a supervisory role Detailed understanding of TCP/IP and common service protocols Excellent troubleshooting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with users of all abilities Preferred Abilities and Knowledge: Prior experience in animated feature film production Experience with RHEL, CentOS and FreeBSD Experience with Xen and Vmware Experience with high availability architectures Experience with Cfengine, Bcfg2 or Puppet Experience with RCS, CVS and Subversion Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL Experience with Ruby, Perl, Python and C++ Experience with Nagios, SNMP and Ganglia Data center design experience To apply go to http://apps.laika.com/jobs/detail/25 For additional information on Laika please visit www.laika.com Location: Portland, Oregon, United States |
