Laika Inc. is looking for System Administrator - Infrastructure Job details: Award winning animation studio, LAIKA Inc, based in Portland Oregon and owned by Phil Knight, co-founder and chairman of Nike is seeking a System Administrator to provide critical IT support for all technology infrastructures. LAIKA/entertainment is currently in production on several animated feature films including: Neil Gaiman's "Coraline", written for the screen and directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and The Giant Peach); and "Jack & Ben", written and directed by Jorgen Klubien (Cars, Monsters Inc, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid). The company recently purchased the rights to one of the U.K.'s current best-selling children's novels, writer/illustrator Alan Snow's "Here Be Monsters". LAIKA/house is a dynamic community of filmmakers, designers and animators guided by a legacy of 30 years of animation history. Notorious for its skills in storytelling and character performance, LAIKA/house produces every type of animation in every medium. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Deployment and support of server, network and data center infrastructure Analysis of systems, workflows, topologies and configurations Minimum Qualifications Three years general experience supporting Linux, BSD and/or Windows servers Three years general experience supporting high-performance IP networks Three years experience scripting (shell, awk, perl, ruby, etc.) Solid understanding of TCP/IP and common service protocols Experience with common security software, protocols and best practices Experience with automation tools (imaging, configuration management, etc.) Experience with monitoring tools (OpenNMS, nagios, cricket, etc.) Excellent troubleshooting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred Abilities and Knowledge Experience with Netapp or other storage appliances Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and/or Filemaker Experience with vendor relations, evaluations, RFPs, etc. Experience with data center operations Experience with Foundry, Extreme and/or Cisco devices To apply go to http://apps.laika.com/jobs/detail/171 For additional information on Laika please visit www.laika.com Location: Portland, Oregon, United States |
