RELEASE ENGINEER Position Description Job Summary We are looking for a talented Senior Release Engineer to join the WagerWorks Release and Product Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record developing automated tools and processes to build and deploy releases in a managed service environment. As we maintain several concurrent releases between many customers, the candidate must be very detail-oriented, able to multitask effectively, and have excellent communication skills. Requirements: Proven experience releasing builds and deploys in a timely fashion to a managed service environment Ability to coordinate and oversee complex deployments to multiple production environments Admin-level expertise in at least one major source control tool (BitKeeper, Perforce, Clearcase, etc.) sizing, tuning, backup, rollouts, etc. Extensive knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release procedures Experience with Ant in a Java environment writing new build scripts, custom tasks, etc. Experience developing automated install tools using a centralized management model Strong UNIX and shell programming skills Bash, Perl, Python, etc. Experience working in Java, BEA Weblogic, HTML/JSP, Apache, and DB2/Informix environments configuring, deploying and troubleshooting 5+ years experience as a build or release engineer working in UNIX (Solaris/LINUX) and Windows environments Excellent communication skills - able to interface with multiple groups across the company and external technical partners Responsibilities: Enhance existing build/deploy process and architect the next generation centralized deployment Continually evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall release process Perform software builds and deploys to development, QA, and production environments Integrate and document partner software with WagerWare casino software Work with external gaming auditing agencies on supervised builds/deploys Perform software merges between release branches Create and deploy bugfix and patches for existing releases Mentor and assist junior members of the team as necessary Administration and user support of source control (currently BitKeeper and CVS) Reports to: Travel required: Director of Product Operations 0 10% To apply for this position please send a resume to jobs@wagerworks.com or jvanlandingham@wagerworks.com.
