| subject: Sr. Network Gameplay Programmer , Factor 5 Factor 5 is looking for Sr. Network Gameplay Programmer duration - Full Time Job details: Sr. Network Gameplay Programmer Responsibilities: The Network Game play Programmer is responsible for creating and implementing networked game play on next generation consoles. This role will primarily develop online tournament play modes. This position will be charged with the development of systems for application in real-time networked gaming systems. This includes analysis of network latency and bandwidth overhead, as well as designs suitable for use in limited resource (embedded systems) environments. This position will also be responsible for creating and interpreting appropriate benchmarks to quantify performance bottlenecks and propose and execute on solutions to enhance and optimize the overall scalability of the system. Specifically, the Network Game play Programmer will focus on: Networking in a game console environment Networked game logic and prediction Online Co-operative and death match play modes. Job Requirements: Networking and networked game logic 2 years experience working in peer-to-peer networking 2 years experience working with server-client networking model Networking on game console APIs Proficient in C/C++ Good C++ design skills Be able to see the big picture Ability to work within in schedule constraints Desired Skills: Console programming experience desired Networking on game console APIs Game scripting engine integration Working knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems and tools Prior game industry knowledge or experience Database and Online server communications Experience in 2D/3D computer graphics Education: Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent related work experience Location: San Rafael, CA, United States Contact info: Interested applicants should forward cover letter and resume/CV to Factor 5 at the email address below .
