Responsibilities:
- Build, set up and configure existing open source, commercial and proprietary Linux server applications.
- Act as a system administrator for the development environment.
- Create and document operational procedures, including installation, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Act as a PostgreSQL database administrator.
Skills:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of Linux system administration is required.
- Hands-on experience administering Apache web server is required.
- Working knowledge of UNIX Shell language is required.
- 1+ years of server software development using Java is required.
- Hands-on experience working with LDAP, PostgreSQL is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience working with Java (J2EE) application servers, such as Tomcat, Orion, JBoss is desirable.
- Some experience developing and/or supporting network monitoring and administration tools.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and networking.
- Some knowledge of network hardware (switches, load balancers, routers, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, team oriented, goal focused.
