It is a browser based distributor of digital publicity material and is focused on serving both domestic and global entertainment clients around the world. Our international client base includes UIP, BVI and Warner Music plus a number of clients who are well established in local markets. Media Manager Services is a new Digital Asset Management System from Getty Images. Based on the technology used by the image.net service, it will provide a DAM solution for companies who are looking to manage the creation and distribution of their marketing materials. We have offices in Japan, Australia, USA, Germany and UK. Our Account Management team operate in all of these offices providing a support network for all clients worldwide. A quick overview of the role: This position is for a Java/Oracle programmer. The successful applicant will work on our core asset management and distribution system. They will be responsible for key functional developments and working with others in team to integrate the new code. Working within a small skilled group of developers, they will be provided with the help and training to get started. They will work closely with other developers to learn, develop and implement new functionality. They will receive specifications and guidance from the technology director then be capable of developing and delivering functionality according to their agreed estimates and code tested against the spec. The successful applicant will be a resourceful, customer oriented, technical, self-starter, who is able to pursue given objectives working within a supportive team. They will be working on a highly regarded large system which is currently undergoing a new phase of development to support a new range of clients, particularly large corporate clients. The system supports a wide range of digital assets including images video and music. What this will involve: * Develop new functionality based on specifications. Be responsible for estimating the task, reviewing and discussing the implementation then developing the code. Once it is functionally tested, handing it over to the interface team and when complete handing over to the QA team. * Supporting and learning the existing system. Working with other developers to understand the system. Key to the job will be understanding the system, reusing existing code and promoting reuse and ever improving standards. * Working with other lead developers in building API’s, discussing and building greater reuse and frameworks. Discussing and contributing to better coding standards and working practices. What we’ll be looking for in you: * 5 years direct experience working with Java and a relational database (J2EE). * 5 years experience of Oracle databases. Recent experience with version 9i (and possibly 10g) * Good track record of delivering good quality development projects on time and according to specification. * Solid experience of web developments and delivery. * Experience of application servers, deployment and Web Services. * Knowledge and experience of working with the Struts/MVC architecture using CVS, Ant toolsets. * Ideally experience of working with digital media, images, audio, video and metadata standards. * Analytical problem solving skills * Design, architecture, frameworks and API development skills * Solid understanding of Java Developments with relational databases * Extensive experience Oracle databases * Solid foundation in application development * Analytical problem solving skills * Design, architecture, frameworks and API development skills * An ability to understand complex issues and learn quickly * Adaptability, flexibility and creativity * Mature professional attitude * Good team working skills, ability to train and support other developers * Persistence and transactional experience How to apply: To apply, please click on the Apply button below, this will open up a short form to which you can attach the CV and covering letter that will be your application.
