| Software Developer / Web server administrator Salary: £35,000 per annum, based on experience Location: Warrington, Cheshire Company: K7 Solutions Date posted: 27 Jul 2005 Our Client requires a full time developer with proven skills to implement required website features and maintain the webserver, working out of our modern central Warrington offices. You will be responsible for the full project life cycle, but directors will determine priorities. Initially working on legacy systems, you will soon be required to write additional features and systems, including medium-scale databases. A mature, structured and goal focussed approach to development is a requirement and the production of technical designs that meet functional specifications, plus detailed implementation documentation, will be expected. You must be capable of managing the full system life cycle effectively, working from design to QA, including directing external creative designers. You should have completed several similar sized projects. Required personal qualities are: · A mature, organised, solid and structured approach to development · A desire to meet business goals, as presented by the directors · An understanding of the need to document work to a high standard · Excellent communication skills with all levels · Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and on multiple projects · Independent, proactive and positive attitude · A desire to keep pace with the latest technologies Required skills/education/experience are: · Superb Perl and PHP skills, including integration with databases (3+ years experience) · Excellent SQL database skills (preferably MySQL) including building efficient, large databases (2+ years experience) · Excellent ability to decompose and model data relationships · Excellent ability to manage medium scale 12 month projects with planned structured phases (design, research, proof of risks, implement, QA & bug fix) · Good knowledge of techniques for visitor tracking in websites · Good knowledge of common techniques for building visitor-friendly websites · Good Linux skills, including installing software and setting up and maintaining our remote and local webservers. · Good CSS & Javascript, plus other common web technologies · Good use of Microsoft Office suite. · Good HTML skills.
