This vacancy is aimed at high attaining graduates and developers with up to 3 years experience in an IT related role who are looking to gain experience in the mobile data services arena. On-the-job training is provided to equip candidates to evolve in a rapidly expanding mobile data services development team using cutting edge technologies. . Successful applicants will play a flexible role within the Solutions team as well as being assigned to project teams with their own technical management. The role will involve identifying business requirements and the analysis, specification, documentation and delivery of high quality, robust technical solutions and implementations according to those requirements and against indicated timescales. The post holder will also contribute to the product design process and quality control, analysing and reviewing product designs in terms of user experience and user interface, as well as peer reviews and processes. They will write and review detailed test plans, ensuring their implementation, and produce functional and technical documentation of products, systems and services. Candidates must have experience of PHP, SQL, XML, XSL, CSS, xHTML, HTML, WML, MySQL, Apache, jvm, Unix/Linux and Windows, as well as experience in delivering projects at University/ Placements/Work. Experience of Apache Cocoon, Java Spring Framework and systems platform configuration, performance and tuning skills would also be desirable. Applicants should have had exposure to database design, performance and query tuning, RDBMS, as well as portal, content management, mobile & internet technologies. Other skills that are essential to the job are excellent requirements analysis and technical design skills, good technical writing and presentation skills, planning and time-management skills and excellent communication skills. Experience of working to tight deadlines in a technical environment and the ability to manage changing business and technical requirements is also important.
