| subject: Next-Gen Engine Programmer , Relic Entertainment Relic Entertainment is looking for Next-Gen Engine Programmer duration - Full Time Job details: Next-Gen Engine Programmer The Next-Gen Engine Programmer is responsible for engine development for next-generation consoles. This will include porting and adapting core engine systems to next gen consoles (PS3, XBOX 360) and implementing new features that make best use of those platforms. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research, document and educate other team members on best practices for the use of next-generation console hardware (PS3 and Xbox 360). Design and implement core engine systems to run on different platforms (PS3 and XBOX 360) Train and provide technical expertise to other programmers in following next-generation console best practices Create systems and core technology for next-generation console engine Take ownership of assigned tasks and be able to work with minimal supervision Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code in adherence to internal standards Actively participate in team by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity Assist in other areas of game development as requested by the Lead Programmer REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 3 years of game development experience including specific experience writing efficient core engine code on a published title Education in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics and/or experience in computer graphics, animation, numerical methods, linear algebra, vision, and computational intelligence; degree required for foreign workers Experience designing, implementing and optimizing low-level systems on PS2, PS3 or Xbox 360 Strong understanding of C++ and STL Strong mathematics skills including trigonometry, calculus and linear algebra Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment Proven ability at successful multi tasking under considerable pressure Proven coaching, leadership and mentorship abilities An avid game player and strong interest in pushing the industry forward creatively Not essential but definite assets Experience with multi-thread and multi-core programming.
