| subject: Magazine Web Director , Southern Progress Corporation Southern Progress Corporation is looking for Magazine Web Director duration - Full-Time Job details: SPC Digital, a new online initiative from Time Inc’s Southern Progress Division, is looking for a Magazine Web Director with significant interactive experience. The Magazine Web Director should also have strong editorial experience, preferably in lifestyle content: home, garden, travel, and food. This person will lead the strategy for six branded websites: CoastalLiving.com, CookingLight.com, CottageLiving.com, SouthernAccents.com, SouthernLiving,com, and Sunset.com. This person will also be the chief liaison to SPC Digital’s hub sites: MyRecipies.com and MyHomeIdeas.com. The Magazine Director will oversee the planning, development, quality standards, and creation of content (written, video, etc.) and other programming. The position will manage an internal team of online professionals; as well as outside content creators and web publishers. This is a new position and therefore there is also an opportunity to help shape the job. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Working collaboratively with the magazine editorial teams, develop the vision and strategic plan for the magazine websites. This will include content strategy as well as technology/platform strategy. - Oversee production on the sites— directing cross-site upgrades and improvements. - Manage the online editors for the magazine sites— working to grow their skills and improve the quality of the sites. - Encourage and facilitate participation from print editors in the magazine websites. - Oversee the creation of editorial calendars for the sites. - Manage relationships with content and syndication partners. - Oversee the budget for the magazine sites. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of 5-8 years directly related experience, with supervisory experience. - Strong editorial experience on the web, preferably in the lifestyle arena. - Strong project management experience. - Strong relationship skills, including experience working collaboratively on creative and technical projects. - Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, english, or equivalent experience.
