| Java / C++ developer for medical image processing Salary: £30,000-35,000 Location: Central London / West End Company: IXICO Ltd Date posted: 19 Jul 2005 Description: IXICO Limited is seeking a graduate level experienced Java / C++ developer to deploy a complex network of web services for processing a large number of medical images. The role will support the design of the system and will help to realize the web service network in Java under Linux. This work will include to implement new image analysis algorithms using our C++ framework and to adapt existing algorithms to the web service concept. Since sensitive information, like medical images, are transfered between the web services, the software design will need to ensure the security of these data. The candidate will deal with recent technologies like GRID computing and cutting-edge image processing algorithms such as 3D image warping. IXICO is a young and extremely ambitious company with close links to research labs at Imperial College London and University College London. You will be exposed to some extremely high profile projects that are exciting and challenging. Our clients demand working strictly under a ISO9001 based quality system. You must have at least a Masters Degree in computer science or similar subject and 2+ years experience in object-oriented programming using Java and C++. You must understand web service issues in depth, as well as demonstrating a good understanding of image processing techniques. Successful candidates must have the skill to grasp the needs of our customers and to design and implement complex software according to their requirements. Furthermore, successful candidates should have experience in version-controlled maintenance of software code including release management, bug diagnosis, code maintenance. Experience with computer clusters, like CONDOR clusters, and knowledge of other script-based programming language, like PERL, is a plus. Furthermore, we would prefer candidates who have been exposed to an ISO9001 based quality system in the past.
