The iPhone Media Applications Group is looking for a proactive, highly motivated engineer with 0-5 years experience to handle a wide variety of tasks related to media application and framework development. Along with excellent skills in object-oriented software design and programming, the successful candidate will have real-world experience optimizing size and performance of applications and frameworks. You will be responsible for implementing new features in existing applications as well as developing complex applications from top to bottom, with a primary focus on APIs and middleware/framework development. Required: - BS in computer science or equivalent. - Strong object oriented programming and design skills. - Proven track record writing Multi-threaded code and experience with synchronous and asynchronous code. - Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. - Experience at the application and user interface level with at least one of the following: Mac OS X API's, Java, Win32, WindowsCE, NextStep/OpenStep. -Familiarity with Unix. Additional success factors: -Knowledge of Objective-C. - Experience with CoreFoundation or Foundation. -Experience developing reusable APIs. -Multimedia related experience -QuickTime API's, ID3 Tags or other metadata for music and video related technology -Database experience, including practical knowledge of database client API's and experience designing databases with an eye on performance.
