| INDUSTRIAL IT ENGINEER Salary: Location: France Company: EDF Date posted: 19 Jul 2005 EDF R&D Department of Optimisation of Process Performances carries out studies to improve the security, availability and performances of production resources within the EDF Group. The Information Systems and Surveillance group mission is to anticipate the evolution of the information systems linked to production occupation and to integrate operators’ tools and methods of surveillance production equipment within the information system of the operators and distant experts. The group develops mock-ups or prototypes of information systems for the station and evaluates regularly the best available technology on the market, particularly regarding important scientific and industrial network partners. INDUSTRIAL IT ENGINEER Within a group of 25 engineer-researchers and technicians, you will participate in the development of different occupations information systems project. You will get involved in research already established in 3 areas: * Development of the interfaces between the scientific code an the IHM applications * Participation in the technological updating of the diverse communication technologies among computer programs (applications?) * Development of the value-added programs in the energy production field (thermal station with flame notably) The research will allow you to become familiar with the working methods of the group, with the stake of the energy production occupation, and the technical company frame of reference while building on your theoretical training in the computer technology field. You will translate the information systems the specific needs of the stations and material surveillance occupations mechanism. You will have to cooperate with foreign industrial and academic partners. General Engineer or academic equivalent, you are specialised in IT and with a first significant experience in this field, you are proficient in techniques of computer development basis: Modelling tools, C, C++, and Java languages. You are familiar with different database and web applications development technologies. Subsidiary competences in central mechanism and in news making will be appreciated. You are proficient in emergent communication technologies (OPC, web services for ex.) and ideally you have a good capacity to integrate scientific applications in an environment of management or industrial computer. Fluent French and English compulsory + any other language will be an advantage (German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese). Your scientific curiosity, your synthetic and initiative mind enable you to be efficient and performing. You are autonomous and creative in your work organisation. Your communicator’s qualities (ability to listen and oral expression) and your adaptability are assets for you to be successful in getting integrated in the teams. Position based in Chatou (78).
