The successful candidate will be passionate about designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining high quality tools that enable efficient game development practices. This individual will be responsible for editors, 3D object manipulation tools, software to integrate and optimize art assets, and other tools in the game development pipeline. QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree in Computer Science (Bachelors degree required, Masters degree a plus), and relevant industry experience. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED: Software engineer with 3-5 years of experience in tool development for 3d games. Experience with scripting languages (Python) and user interface toolkits (Tcl/Tk). Strong understanding of 3D graphics fundamentals. Experience with 2D and 3D art packages and APIs (Maya, MEL scripting, Photoshop) Experience designing, implementing, and using in-engine game editors. Ability to work and communicate well within a team of artists and programmers. An enthusiastic, self-starter with a good attitude and good team spirit. Avid game player. Recommended Skills: Knowledge of physics, collisions, particle, and lighting systems for games. Experience working on or playing massively multiplayer games. Experience creating tools for creation of in-game cut-scenes. Experience with version control systems.
