Salary: unspecified Company: EDF Job type: Permanent Date Posted 06/09/2005 06:00 Description: EDF’s Research and Development Centre has approximately 2300 researchers and technicians contributing towards the performance of the EDF Group and preparing for the future through offering innovation, research, construction tools and other services Within the SINETICS (Neutronics Simulation, Information Technologies and Scientific Calculation) Department of the R&D Division of Electricity of France, the job of the Neutronics Core Simulation Group consists of : * Developing and qualifying many codes and software which are already involved in the core calculation chain which enables EDF to exploit its 58 nuclear reactor plants, * Preparing the new generation of these tools, * Performing accurate studies, refuelling studies for instance. This group is looking for a : Doctor-engineer in neutronics (job based in Clamart, near Paris, France) In order to demonstrate the reloads safety and to perform exploitation studies of its nuclear cores, EDF has developed a core calculation chain in which the core calculation code is one of the most important parts. Your mission consists of working on the new core calculation code, which will replace the current one. You will join a project team and take part in developing and exploiting the new code, following insurance quality of software developments standards (documentation writing, users help, validation). Engineer or academic with a specialisation in neutronics, a first experience in this sector allowed you to develop your skills in object programming (C++/Java). In addition, you have a good knowledge of the great deterministic scientific codes (Apollo 2, Eranos). Creative and an abundance of good critical spirit, you are driven to develop and optimize the current models. You are rigorous, reliable and with good organisational skills. You also have good interpersonal skills and you are a good team player. You have operational English. European candidates are the welcomes.
