Abatech's expertise encompasses civil & structural engineering, geotechnical and environmental services, drainage & infrastructure design, traffic and acoustic impact assessments, pavement technology services and software development for materials and engineering applications. Job Description: This very senior role within the group would suit a Chartered civil engineer with a minimum of ten years UK industry experience. The successful candidate will be leading the activities of the civil engineering teams within the company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be directly responsible for coordinating the activities of the civil engineering team and therefore accountable for their performance, in terms of fees generated, business won and the overall success for this part of the business. You will also be responsible for interfacing other key players within The Abatech Group and the external parties that the group deals with. Communication and relationship development skills will be a crucial part of this role, as will having a strong commercial sense, leadership skills and to be responsive to changing situations and factors. Candidate Specification: You will: * Be a chartered engineer * Hold a minimum of ten years UK industry experience * Have a proven track-record of successfully leading other teams of engineers successfully through projects * Have experience of running projects of value in excess of £1m * Able to demonstrate the experience and skills to communicate and negotiate with a wide variety of people and external bodies, such as clients, local authorities and governing bodies Skills: Chartered engineer: Experience at Associate, Director, Principal Engineer level or as a very senior engineer Benefits: This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to take their next step into a senior management role, within an established and respected group.
