This position, reporting to the Area Systems Engineer Manager, will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support acquisition sales in the West Area. The ideal candidate will develop and deliver persuasive technical sales presentations and product demonstrations that clearly communicate Apple's product and technology direction and competitive advantages. You will also provide technical consulting on the integration and implementation of Apple products and existing technologies in customer environments. You will have the ability to clearly demonstrate and convince the customer that Apple products are more technologically advanced and cost effective than competitors products.
Responsibilities:
Teamed with Acquisition Account Executives, works with customers in pursuing sales opportunities in the K12 Education Market. Participates with Account Executives in customer calls that require technical knowledge to deal with Apple product capabilities and compatibility questions. This position requires excellent presentation skills, as SEs are expected to deliver sales presentations on Apple's strategic technical and business messages. Provides technical expertise in integrated Apple, third party & customized solutions. Responsible for technical aspects of sales into assigned accounts. Works with other Engineers to define and implement appropriate technical sales tactics in assigned accounts.
This is a true hunter sales engineer position. This position will not be engaged in account management, but instead will be measured on making initial Apple sales to accounts that have not purchased from Apple in the past three or more years.
The successful Acquisition Sales Engineer will be proficient at:
- independently, and in conjunction with Acquisition Account Executives, initiating the sales process in new and unfamiliar accounts,
- demonstrating Apples product and company benefits to accounts who are not familiar with, and have not purchased from Apple,
- quickly and efficiently qualifying prospects to determine if there is an immediate, short term sales opportunity,
- working effectively with their Acquisition Sales counterpart, including following up on leads and opportunities
- leveraging new accounts marketing activities and events in their territory, and
- be able to articulate Apples 1:1 visions and message to new customers
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales engineer experience (experience with hunter/acquisition sales or Windows-based sales engineer experience preferred).
- Strong sales characteristics and skills, including presentation skills, qualifying skills, technical knowledge, overcoming objections and closing.
-Hands on knowledge of multiple operating systems including Windows and Macintosh OS is required.
-Must be able to differentiate Mac OS vs. competing operating systems and demonstrate those differences.
- Self-motivated, able to achieve goals and territory quotas.
- Results Driven, well organized with strong follow-up skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and to leverage team members in accomplishing goals and objectives.
- Able to travel up to 80% as required.
